There Are Many Different Types Of Cakes In Production

There are many different types of cakes for several purposes. These diverse types have different tastes, designs and purposes. Some of them include Angel food cake, devil food cake, Red violet cake and Dundee cake. However, chocolate muffins are the ideal type for birthday parties and wedding receptions.

Angel cake originated from the United Kingdom. The major ingredients for it include flour, sugar, icing, vanilla extract and eggs. Angel cake is actually different from the other type known as Angel food cake.

Angel food cake originated from North America. This is a sponge cake whose major ingredients include cream of Tartar, wheat flour and egg whites. It is better to bake it in a tube pan or a Bundt pan and the pans should not be greased before baking. It can be mixed with sweet fruit sauce and aromatic sauces such as mace and cloves.

Another type is the devil food cake, which originated from the United States. The main ingredients for it include flour, butter, egg whites, beets and cocoa solids. The cake is loved for its moist, airy, rich chocolate. This cake uses more baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) to make the pH level high and increase its mahogany color. Devil's food cake is some how similar to the red velvet cake.

If you have been to cupcake bakeries for cake, you would have likely seen the red velvet type there. Red velvet cake started in the US. It is made by combining ream cheese icing, sugar, butter milk, butter, cocoa powder, vanilla and beetroot in their right proportions. The common colors for this cake include red-brown, bright red and red.

Dundee cake was also produced first in the UK. It was first made by the Keiller's Marmalade Company in Scotland. Almonds, currants and sultanas are some of its major ingredients. The fruits make them appetizing and more delicious than most other cake varieties. Dundee cake is available in most UK stores.

There are many different types of cakes that make use of sweeteners like honey and sugar. The essence of adding the sweeteners is to aid consumption. Sugars can be obtained from monosaccharide, disaccharides and polysaccharides. On the other hand, honey is a natural type that is formed when bees release an enzyme that reacts with the nectar they collect from the nectar of flowers. Some of the kinds of honey include alfalfa honey, clove honey and eucalyptus honey.
