How To Identify A Contemporary Impressionist Artist

When it comes to current art styles, one of the most popular is that of modern. Whereas, when looking for art resembling that of the French Impressionists, an individual might want to look for a contemporary impressionist artist. For, these individuals work with the same techniques of the French Impressionist Masters.

To understand the art of these contemporaries, one must first understand the art of the French Impressionist Masters. Some of these individuals include, August Renoir, Paul Cezzane, Edgar Degas, Marc Chagall, Frederic Bazille and Claude Monet. One of the best ways to gain insight into the amazing art and work of these artists is by visiting a gallery or museum. For, most have works hanging in art museums and galleries around the world.

At the same time, for those whom can not make it to a museum, a number of works are now available to view online. While this is the case, it can often be hard to see the same effects with regards to light and shadow which is highly visible in the original paintings. Whatever the case, in order to understand current artists working in this genre, one has to understand the concept provided by the original paintings.

Contemporaries working in this genre use light brush strokes, shadow and a special technique which makes light come to life. A good example of this type work, is that of Thomas Kinkaid, whom while considered a contemporary passed away in 2012. Still, often known as the painter of light, Mr. Kinkaid had a way of painting scenery with light and shadow that was beautiful, unique and awe inspiring.

Most often, those working in this genre prefer to paint scenes, thus painting outdoors is often the only option. While this is the case, painting outdoors as often been a favorite activity of artists since the beginning of time. For, whether painting in a park, on a hill or on the shore overlooking the ocean, the results are often captivating, especially when the artist can make a scene come to life.

Whether using a natural backdrop or fixed pose, no other artists have been able to create the effects of the French Impressionists or a number of contemporaries, such as Mr. Kinkaid. As such, many current paintings resemble those of the French Impressionist Masters. While at the same time, each has a style that is often unusual and unique to each artist.

For, contemporary impressionism is an art form that basically uses a method in which light and color play off one another. The method, to use varying colors and the feel of immediacy and movement which brings the painting to life. After which, it is as if viewers are looking at the crashing of an ocean wave, the light from the moon or the glow of a lamplight.

It is now up to contemporaries to create new masterpieces using these techniques. For, while there are many well known paintings hanging in museums, most are priceless. As such, there are also people whom would like to own art resembling these pieces.
