9 Of The Finest Kelowna Neighborhoods For Retirees

Kelowna neighborhoods are known for providing both luxurious and cheap accommodation. From down the valley to up the mountain areas, there are several locations that have suitable homes for families and even retirees. Some of these locations are highlighted below so that you can know them before you move in.

The northern area with smaller homes is generally referred to as The North. It is an old are of the town, but it is attracting a lot of investors and those speculating on the value. It is the area closest to the cultural district as well.

The Popular Point is a hidden enclave that has some special real estate. It is located just below Knox Mountain, which lies along Okanagan Lake. There is an well-developed neighborhood of homes that lie just along the lake. Another half of the homes can be found across the road. This is one of the most expensive areas.

The North is also an old area. The locals generally refer to it as the Hospital area because of the health center is found within. It is also closely located to the beaches and even the parks. This makes it a good place for families. Moreover, it is adjacent to the redeveloped South Pandosy area, which has numerous shops and restaurants.

In the Glenmore area, most of the homes are generally between 20 and 40 year old. The location also boasts of quality schools, well-organized bus transport, downtown, and shopping facilities. The new Rails and Trails is also now operational and a nice place for walking or biking.

If you are searching for a desirable and unique neighborhood, then Dilworth is the right place for you. The place is located on a mountain, but just five minutes from the city. It is quiet and feels so far from the hustle and bustle that is characteristic of the city. You can find homes that face Okanagan Lake, the Glenmore Valley and even across the City.

North Glenmore is traditionally known for orchards. However, this area has developed into a tremendous family neighborhood with several parks that join other zones. The area has quality schools, boutique malls, as well as mountain trails that are quite good for biking and hiking. The homes are mainly 10-20 years old.

The University area is also coming up with very good houses. For those who are new in this region, this area covers the sophisticated Quail Ridge Golf Course Community and the areas surrounding UBC Okanagan. Although most homes are relatively new, it has well-established families.

The Upper Mission has also seen major developments in the recent past. The houses are generally affordable, but there are also luxurious homes that are highly priced. It joins with the Lower Mission, which a bit more expensive due to its proximity to the lake.

These are just a few of Kelowna neighborhoods. Others include Springfield Spall; Black Mountain and Joe Riche; Rutland South, Rutland North, and Ellison; Lake Country West and East, and the west side of the city. Most of these areas are currently under development, but they are great locations for popular area for both families.
