The Training Involved In Florian Knights Firefighter MCC Programs

By Peter Reynolds

At some point many have thought of being a hero. This was usually during childhood when most would have just dreamed the craziest things. But now, there is a chance to fight for a noble cause and that cause is firefighting. Even the origin of the cross was from the patron saint of firefighters, Saint Florian.

The course work that needs to be undergone for those who aspire a job in the firefighting industry is not as simple and limited to physical related training. The Florian knights firefighter MCC courses are designed to help you land a job in such a competitive, and rarely hiring industry. The MCC is a college in Arizona that offers subjects to teach its students everything they need to know about the matter.

It is not just all about muscle and agility, it also largely involves solving problems in critical situations that may cost lives. The lessons embedded in these courses also focus on knowing the causes and precautions to fires. Since the job is pretty risky certifications and even licenses is a must.

The college provides advanced training, basic preparation courses, and comprehensive information about fire hazards. The instructors for these are actual firefighters. The best part is how there is no admission criteria for application. Your childhood dream of being the local hero can finally come true.

Being physically fit is a necessity apart from being qualified age wise. Along with this is 20 20 vision, a clean criminal record and a high school or college diploma. These are just basic requirements not including the written tests. A physically and mentally fit body is needed to be able to undergo such stressful situations and go through them effectively.

There is also a need for smarts in the field. Muscle is never enough, quick thinking is vital to make sure that casualties are close to zero. Tactics, safety and strategy are one of the most important things to learn about in this job. The certificate that you get from 600 hours of training makes you qualified for different positions you may need to apply for.

The training needs to be tedious and can last between 12 to 14 weeks expending at most 50 hours a week. Aptitude tests and physical ability tests are conducted even before you get admitted into any training program. It is a lot like getting signed up for the military only without the weapons. The written exams are to test how mentally capable you are in given situations testing your spatial awareness, mechanical reasoning and other cognitive abilities that may prove handy in these situations.

Preventing fires, controlling volatile materials, inspection of possibly hazardous areas and treating injuries in accidents are only some of the things that these professionals need to learn. There is also the matter about using equipment like the huge hoses that release water at incredible pressures, chain saws, ladders and axes. The use of fire extinguishers should actually be a necessary knowledge for everyone.

Choosing this career path is a truly altruistic move. Deciding to undergo all the rigorous training involved to get a job that will further risk your mortality is not something anyone would do unless they are fully dedicated into trying to save mankind the way superheroes do. People who aspire a position in this industry might as well take paramedic classes too.
