Flagpoles And Solar Powered Lightings

By Fred Smith

While the number of solar installations is increasing, renewable energy isn't always convenient or affordable for commercial properties. While solar energy is often cheaper than alternatives in the long-term, the upfront costs can be significant enough to make building owners question whether they are willing to wait for a lengthy payback. This is particularly true of outdoor lighting systems.

Solar-driven lightings have no pernicious impacts whatsoever on the environment. The use of solar energy to drive flagpole lights is extremely innocuous and, in fact, far better than the use of traditional lights driven by electricity which is generated from non-replenishable sources. Moreover, the use of these non-replenishable sources to drive traditional lights also leads to the production of carbon dioxide as a by-product which is anything but good for the ecological balance.

Most modern solar-powered lightings are affixed with LED lights or built-in with LEDs. LEDs can be colored in order to reach the desired CRI, making them resemble sunlight as closely as possible and increasing night-time visibility, as a result of the process. Traditional lights usually have metal halide lamps which are nowhere close to beating the visibility offered by solar-LED lights.

As far as price is concerned, traditional lights are a lot cheaper than their solar counterparts. However, solar powered flagpole lighting turns out to be a better investment at a cheaper cost if the total money shelled out is consideredâ€"from money spent on installation and maintenance to the lamp or light replacements et al. Solar powered lightings require little or no maintenance. Also, unlike traditional lights, the solar lightings do not require electric poles to be set up explicitly, which is a tardy and expensive procedure.

Solar panels and solar powered flagpole lighting may seem quite expensive when you first purchase it, but in the long run, you will find yourself saving quite a great deal of money. After all, it does not cost anything to harness the power of the sun. Unfortunately, paying for oil is an expensive prospect and the cost is still rising consistently. Why pay for expensive energy when you can harness it freely?

Some disadvantages are the following. There is a barrage of cheap solar powered flagpole lightings being imported and sold, that do not comply with the flag statute. This is bad for a number of reasons. Imported stuff is cheaply made and more importantly, the designs, materials, colors, and methods do not compare well with the better quality, longer-lasting, and correctly designed flagpole lightings made by American manufacturers. The Flag Company Inc specialized in flags and flagpole lightings offered a special edition of solar powered flagpole lightings to provide innovative solutions for individual projects.
